By Faith
One thing that the Bible calls us to do is to “live by faith”. A saying that you hear a lot is, “Live by faith and not by sight”. Hebrews 11 talks a lot about people in the Bible that have lived by faith. Verses 32-38 says that, “time would fail me to tell of,” all of the people that have lived by faith. Hebrews 11:1-2 tells us what living By Faith is:
1-Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
2- For by it the people of old received their commendation.
Each month a person will be picked to go in our “By Faith” section. It may be a person in the Bible, someone in history, or someone today that has lived or is living “By Faith”.

Hard-Working Hands
Spring get-togethers. I love them. After a long winter, its always nice to meet up with friends and family look fresh for spring. Outfit? Got it! Accessories? Check! Smile and cheerful attitude? Accounted for! Seems like I am all put together except for one little detail….. my nails.
Healthy nails are often overlooked in the realms of hygiene and beauty. However, healthy looking nails are noticed more often than you’d think. Think about how hard we work our hands and feet… why is it that we don’t always take care of them?
I try to give myself a pedicure and manicure once every two weeks. It keeps my nails healthy and fresh looking.
To give yourself a pedicure:
• Soak your feet in warm, soapy water
• After about 10 minutes of soaking, push back your cuticles using your fingernail or a file
• Trim away any excess cuticles
• Gently trim your toenails
• File the edges of your nails
• Massage your feet with lotion. Take time to rub each individual toe, the bottom of your feet, and your ankles.
• Add a splash of color or a clear coat of polish to keep your nails strong
o If you use nail color, put down a base of clear before applying. This will prevent your nails from being stained by the color.
To give yourself a manicure:

Spring is here! And not a moment too soon! Hurray for light jackets, open-toed shoes, and those pretty spring clothes we long for over the winter months. It is now the time to pack away your winter clothes and switch out your closet for some lighter attire. Don’t pack away all of your winter clothes just yet though, leave out some decorative scarves. Mix your summer tank-tops, shorts, capris, skirts, and dresses with a scarf for a more European look. Scarves continue to be the latest trend hitting Europe. And they aren’t just for the chilly seasons! Step out in style this spring with a touch of Europe by just adding a decorative scarf.

Learn to Live
Easter is a time of new beginnings. Jesus died to give us a fresh start. Why is it then that we tend to hold the past at the front of our minds when it comes to relationships? I have been guilty of judging guys simply on my own past experience. While it is important to “live and learn,” let’s not forget that we are also “learning to live.” There is a time for tears, there is a time for laughter. There is a time for sorrow, and a time for joy. Let go of the past and give your new relationships a fresh, clean slate. Just as God gave us a fresh start, give that same gift to the people in your life. Give those guys a chance. Trust God and move forward boldly into a new beginning.

From the Manger to the Cross to Risen Savior
I was reminded today that Christmas was just 3 months ago. We celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. The day He came to this earth. God had a special plan for that Babe in a manger. That plan involved you and me. That plan was FOR you and me and the whole world. That plan was to send His Son, His only Son, to save us, all because He loved us (John 3:16). So Jesus came to earth, He lived among us. His name was, “Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins”, Matthew 1:21. He was human, yet sinless. In the Bible, Hebrews 7:26-27 says, “Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.” Jesus was “set apart from sinners”. 1 Timothy 1:15 says, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…”
Then the day came, the day we call Good Friday. Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” He came to earth and he died a sinner’s death for you and me. He did that so we could spend eternity with Him. In Romans 5:8 It tells how great God’s love for us was and is, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Even though the price was paid for our sins and Jesus had done His task here on earth, God wanted to show us what it meant to have new life in Him. On the third day, just as he promised, “God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen” (Acts 10:40). And now we have hope for the future. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Do you have that hope and future in Christ? If not, and even if you do, give yourself to Him again this year.
